Keeping it Real – Great Commandment
Part 3- Love Jesus with all your soul

• When we look at the Old Testament scripture we see that sometimes “heart” and “soul” are used interchangeably; and so are the words “soul” and “spirit”. Scripturally, “heart”, “soul” and “spirit” are tough to define. God, however, tells us to love Him with all of your soul; and all of your heart. God is trying to get at something here.
• Occasionally scripture will make a distinction between some of these words:
• Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
• 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Zoe Life -IDENTITY- Col 3 Who I am in Christ – Hebrew word “Xpn” (nepesh) and it really had to do with life. The soul literally is the part of us that defines who we are. The essence of the biblical definition for soul means life, personality, the inner self and our identity. It’s where we make our decisions and choices that ultimately decide our lifestyle and behaviour. Think of the soul as the “core you”
• The Soul is the centre of our:
• Beliefs
• Will
• Emotions
• Inner thoughts
• Spirit man/woman
• Decisions
• Memory
• Recall
• Joy, happiness, sadness,
• Peace V Anxiety

Making it relevant
1. In what areas above of my will must I “hand over the keys” to Jesus so He can be Lord and I can love Him 100% .
2. In the secret vault of my soul (Johari window) what areas do I need healing and redemption?
